Bibliophilic Domestic Goddess |
I call myself a bibliophilic domestic goddess because.. well.. isn't it obvious? I like books. I like domesticity (being at home, cleaning home, nesting). And more particularly, while I may not feel like it all the time nor think that I look like one, I'm a goddess of sorts. I glow. I'm happy. I'm female, very very much so, even if I don't know how to apply make-up or fix my hair. I just like having boobs and being female! I'm 22. In love with a 39 year old man. Stepmother to 4. Parent to 7 dogs and one cat. Yeah, I'm kinda all that. |

While I’m glad that this was broadcast in the name of deaf awareness, it’s absurd that this wasn’t captioned when posted online and still isn’t. ABC, so conflicting.
I’m with Louisville on this one. Seriously, a story about a girl signing songs for the deaf and not a single closed captioning to tell us what she was saying? That’s pretty bad. But loving that girl’s signing style, too.

It’s Year 2011 And…
We’re in the month of resolutions; cutting back weight, hopping on the diet wagon, making goals for success, and the market is skyrocketing off the ‘Starting Anew’ theme. As the month slows to the end, most people have moved comfortably back into the old skins of usual habits and day-to-day living.

Some of the most successful people aren’t the ones who are jumping through the hoops and ducking their heads at the fear of the economy. They’re the ones shaking their groove with the hoops spinning wildly around their torso — Zuckerberg, gamers, developers, writers, painters, Paul Allen, Jobs, Richard Branson, Rachael Ray, Ingvar Kamprad, Ashley Ambirge, gurus, powerful speakers.

Psst, got this from Sporadic2BMe.
So, here goes!
Last time you kissed someone, were your hands around their neck? Nope… he had to hurry. :(
Are you one of those people who never drink soda? Nope. I drink it. Am drinking some now, in fact.
Think back five months ago, were you single? I don’t think I’ve quite been single since high school. DON’T JUDGE! :P
Is there one person you look at and automatically smile? Yes. Always.
You think “I love you” are strong words? Yep.
When was the last time you laughed REALLY hard? Umm, two nights ago, I think.
Are you counting down for anything? No, not really. Everything is kind of scattered right now to be totally concrete. ALTHOUGH, I am definitely looking forward to Tori returning to TN for Christmas.
Favorite color? These days I veer between shades of orange and light blue.
What grade is the last person you texted in? Pfft. He is grade A.. topnotch. ;D Nah, he’s outta school.
Do you like your hair? Sometimes.
Do you have clothes that belong to other people? Yes.
Is anyone mad at you? Probably. I seem to set people off at times, or I’m surrounded by moody people.
Today, would you rather go forward a week or back? Forward, please.
Have you ever had a really big fight with a best friend? Of course.
Is there someone you don’t ever want to be out of your life? Yes.
Are you currently looking forward to anything? Winter Break, for sure. My boys need a break, and we get Tori for the most part, too.
Will this weekend be a good one? YES.
What’s something you really want right now? To put my ideas to good use.
Is there a guy that knows everything about you? Not everything, yet, I’m sure, but he knows a hell of a lot.
Has anybody ever told you that you have pretty eyes? Oddly enough, yeah.
Would you rather have long or short hair? I really want long hair, atm. I miss my shaggy, untrimmed hippie hair. Then, I get mad at it and chop it off in 5 - 10 years.
Would you go back in time if you were given the chance? No, not really.
Are you open about your feelings or closed off? Open!
Has the last person you kissed ever made you cry? Yes.
Have you realized anything lately? Yeah… I really have. Quite a few epiphanies.
Would you be shocked if the last person you kissed texted you right now? Nope. He texts me about every 5 mins. :)
Do you spend time with the same people always or new people? Same people.
Are you the type that would rather stay at other people’s houses or have them at yours? Have them at mine.
When is the last time you were truly happy with your life? I’ve been truly happy since I’ve been with Steven.
Are you a morning or night person? Ugh, god. Night person, for sure.
umair haque- The Worst Trade in the World
I have found the importance of Christmas shopping numbers on the financial news channel a bit ironic. It seems that we are a better economy by spending money we do not have on shit made outside of our country. The above quote really summarized my feelings.
For me a better economic indicator for the US would be terrible Christmas sales with that money being channeled into people’s credit card and mortgage debt, strengthening the overall foundation (literally) of the system.
I am not anti-import, anti-China or anti-globalization but things like Black Friday and our metrics for judging what is a strong economy do seem very flawed if we are hoping for long term prosperity.

(mindsauce) — For my part, the big word here is globalization. Everything is global, especially through the magic of internet. Even if we were to spend money on things that are FROM here, the money here has almost no value anymore. It’s not being backed up by gold. So I really see no chances of the economy here improving for the long-term until a real solution comes up, not some rant on Black Friday. Nonetheless, this is worth thinking about and it’s true to some degree.
Edited to Add: Also, I don’t think paying off debts would increase the strength of the overall economy. It’s good for you, but it’s not the solution to actual strength. I think the real solution can be found in increasing cash flow into U.S. in the long run, rather than be concerned with large lump of sums at a time like the bailouts. I think we need to rethink our financial system, something more along the lines of actually listening to people like Donald Trump and Robert Kiyosaki.

Before, I was terrible at keeping ferrets. I didn’t know how to care for them well. However, I miss having one. I believe once we expand our home space-wise, and I’ve done plenty of research, and blah blah blah…. I will get two ferrets! :X I want fat, cuddly, large ones.
And I think I will name them Starbucks and Captain Mal. :I
Indeed. One day.
